Viking ladies in the Division of 6 beat a two pair Andover Sports side 7/2 at Everest College. Juliet MacAskill/Karen Hume won their two rubbers for the winners with Emma Day/Deborah Vincent and Helen Wilcox/Jo Berry supplying one each to complete the victory. Sue Hartfield and Kay Carrington-Fisher won the loser’s two rubbers. Each of the visiting Waverley players, Susan Pike, Heather Mountford, Sarah Fenton and Teresa Simmonds took part in one successful rubber when their team lost 4/2 to Andover in the Ladies Division of 4. Karen Causley and Sue Clarke participated in three winning rubbers for the home side with Catherine Lewis and Nikki Fletcher taking part in one successful one each. In the same division, Alex Nagle and Sue Nolan were the only winners when their team Beechdown lost 5/1 to visiting Phoenix. Alison Rendall and Carolyn Neale were winners in all three rubbers in which they took part supported by Averil Mason and Sheila Weston who were successful in two each.
In Mens Division 2 Andover had two good wins. Chris Woodgate/Philip Jaap won a maximum against LoddonSherpas A at the Basingstoke Sports Centre complimented by two rubbers each from Geoff Lewis/Alan Dixon and Jon Purser/Jamil Chowdury. Hanif Rahman/Mark Gentry won the home side’s two points. Later Jon Purser/Geoff Lewis, Sam Allen/Alan Dixon and Chris Woodgate/Jamil Chowdury were the Andover side which defeated visiting Beechdown B 9/0. Waverley B were beaten 9/0 by a visiting BH Pegasus B team comprising Kevin Harris/Marcus Lopez, Steve Glover/Dale Turpin and Jon Brooks/Jon Purvey. Stuart Gordon/Peter Askew won three rubbers, Geoff eagles/David Lancaster won two to enable visiting Whitchurch to beat Phoenix B 5/4 In Division 3. John Shipman/Bob Cosgrove and Mike Taylor/Charles Buffoy won one rubber each for the losers while Alex Davies/Dave Harfield won two. Tom Penn/Ben Nolan won two rubbers and Andrew Gibson/Stuart Rosso won one when Beechdown C lost 6/3 to Firefly at Winchester Road. Colin Pink/Mick Turrell won a maximum for Firefly supported by two rubbers from Scott Armstead/Phil Pike and one scored by Chris Nunne/Dave Keep.
Peter Leeds/Lisa Moran won three rubbers and Martyn Webb/Karen Southwell won one when Beechdown A lost 5/4 to Viking A at Everest College in Mixed Division 1.Scott Wilkins/Karen Hume and Simon Williamson/Julie Shawley each won two rubbers for the home team supported by one rubber claimed by Khem Bahadur Limbu/Juliet MacAskill to complete the scoring. In a Division 2 match at Everest College Beechdown B were 5/4 victors against Viking C courtesy of a maximum from Keith Palmer/Andrea Jefferies with Mark Bayliss/Cathryn Perkins supplying the other two rubbers. Neil Hodges/Diane Cooper won two of the loser’s rubbers with both Keith Miles/Ruth Cairns and Horace Mitchell/Deborah Vincent getting one each. Bob Cosgrove/Sheila Weston were the only winners when a two pair Phoenix B lost 8/1 to visiting Beechdown C in Division 3. Both Tim Jefferies/Alex Nagle and Tom Penn/Sue Nolan won two rubbers for the winners with Bruce Scott/Izzey Grilley getting one.
